Having completed his mission, Dragonborn was granted the
title of Thane which as he made his way to the exit of the hall he was in, it
didn't take long for a brown harried female warrior to stand in his path. The
woman who stood in his path did her best to smile as best as she could at the
man that she would forever devote herself to.
"Dragonborn sir," she said with a respectful bow.
"In honor of your new title I am here to forever serve you," she
proclaimed while presenting herself in a decent way. "The Jarl has
appointed me, Lydia Housecarl to serve you. It's an honor to be your servant my
lord Dragonborn."
"Hrmmm," Dragonborn muttered rubbing his chin as
he took in the woman's features, most of it obscured by the armor she wore.
Though her willingness to serve was a resource he enjoyed though at the moment
as he had questions. "I'm a Thane? What does that mean?" he asked
curiously, not wishing to bother Jarl with such a tiny question.
"The Jarl has recognized you as a person of great
importance in this land. A hero above all else. The title of Thane is an honor
above all else, a gift for your service. Guards will know to look the other
way, if you let them know who you are and anything can become yours," she
explained sparking an inner interest.
"Anything?" he questioned as she nodded.
"All you wish within reason and below Jarl can be yours
for what you have done to earn the title," she said as he merely nodded
his head as he questioned her status.
"And... what does a housecarl do?" he questioned
as she nodded her head.
"As my one and only Thane, I'm sworn to your service
and will. I'll guard you, and all you own, with my life," she swore with
great promise.
"So, you shall do as I command?" he questioned as
she nodded her head.
"I will never wavier," she stated sternly as he
nodded.
"Then heed my footsteps and follow my path,"
Dragonborn commanded as she nodded understanding as they exited the hall and
made their way to his home where dark deeds await.
