"Well, Frieren, shall we put it all on the line and lay
our souls bare?" Aura shouted out with a sadistic smirk, holding up her
magical scale that would weigh her power against Frieren's.
"Hrmm, go ahead, but do not regret your choice," Frieren calmly said
as Aura chuckled and held up the scale higher into the air as it weighed their
magical power.
"I shall enslave you now!" Aura cried out as the scale began to weigh
them, with the scale quickly tipping in her favor. "Hahahah, just like
that, I will win!" Aura cheered as Frieren let a small smirk on her face
appear.
"Sure about that?" Frieren asked as Aura's eyes widened; in that
moment time stopped. All it would take for Frieren to come out on top was a
second, and Aura felt it. This wasn't the first time she faced someone who
suppressed their power, and as the power was about to explode, she felt it,
like a wave of water; she felt it about to unleash from Frieren and wash over
her.
However, Aura had trained herself, knowing that in her scale battle anything
could swing to the other side in a heartbeat. Before she could think or react,
one of her fingers twitched and caused one of her undead servants in reserve to
act in an instant.
"Because-" Frieren began to say, about to release her pent-up power,
but in that moment, something jumped out of the ground, a long undead worm-type
creature that had no presence that tightly wrapped itself around Frieren. Its
sticky body was wrapping tightly over her limbs and face, throwing Frieren off
balance for a moment as its moving pincer legs poked into Frieren's limbs all
over her body, temporarily paralyzing her as well. "MPHPM!"
"HA! ENSLAVE!" Aura cried out as the scale stayed in her favor,
making its final judgment as it saw her with the most power as Frieren's power
remained sealed and lost in the moment of the worm attack as a powerful aura
washed over Frieren’s body.
"N-No, no, it can't, I... I hesitated for a moment too long!"
Frieren thought horrified, and the moment she did, Himmel spoke to her from a
long-distant memory.
